General Business Communications
The group advises general business clients on the communications,
Internet and media issues that arise in the course of their general activities.
These include:
- Libel and privacy claims arising out of
business communications, including employment disputes
- Commercial disparagement concerns, including
trade libel, false advertising, and Internet-based criticism including
gripe sites and message boards
- Advertising, sweepstakes and promotions, Internet advertising,
including trademark-based claims arising out of search engine
advertising on the Internet
- First Amendment advice relating to the permissible scope of government
regulation of business advertising, business rights vis a vis protestors and
critics, and similar issues.
Members of the Media, Communications and Internet Practice
Group work closely with members of the Intellectual Property and Information
Technology, Business Litigation and Corporate Compliance practice groups.
