Medical Staff Issues

Our attorneys regularly address the complex issues related to medical staffs, including credentialing, appointment and reappointment, clinical privileges, exclusive contracts, peer review, corrective action, fair hearings and the National Practitioners Data Bank Reporting requirements. We have assisted hospitals and medical staffs with drafting and amending medical staff bylaws, medical staff rules and regulations and clinical privileges delineation forms to assure compliance with applicable laws and accreditation requirements. In addition, we have conducted peer review hearings and represented clients in peer review, credentialing and related lawsuits. When these processes have resulted in litigation, our health care trial lawyers have successfully represented the credentialing authority in upholding their actions.
